Documents and scanning
Attach paperwork to the record it belongs to, and let LugNote read it for you.

Documents belong to records: the invoice to its service record, the policy to its insurance record, the receipt to its fill-up. A vehicle's Paperwork tab lists all of them together.
Where scanning is turned on, LugNote reads these kinds of document and offers what it found for review:
- Service receipts and dealer invoices: shop, date, total, odometer, VIN, and each line as a part, labor or a fee.
- Insurance cards and registrations: insurer or authority, policy or plate number, and the dates that become reminders.
- Fuel receipts and pump displays: total, volume and price.
- Online parts orders: each line, which you send to supplies or to the vehicle as an upgrade.
You do not have to say what a document is. "Scan a document" in quick add, or at the top of a vehicle's Paperwork tab, takes a file with no title or type. LugNote works out whether it is an insurance card, a registration, an invoice, a fuel receipt or an order, names it the same way every time, such as "Insurance ID Cards Sep 2026 to Feb 2027" or "Registration 2026", and offers the entry for you to check. You can change the type, the dates or the title before anything is filed.
Nothing a scan reads is saved on its own. The review shows each value beside what the record already says, and only the boxes you tick are applied. If the VIN on an invoice does not match the vehicle, the review says so.
"Read again" re-reads a document when the first result was poor. It uses one of your plan's monthly scans, and the earlier suggestion is kept until the new one is ready.
You can also forward email to your household's private address, on paid plans, and the attachments arrive as drafts to review.
